Did you know MTV India’s Next Top Model Season 4 second runner-up, Rushali Yadav is from Ajmer? The lass is a native of Vaishali Nagar Ajmer and studied in St Stephen’s School. “I was a science student, and the only thing I cared about was my studies. I have never in my wildest dream thought of getting into modelling,” she shared in an interview last year.
Getting into Modelling
The twist in Rushali’s life came when she went to study fashion designing at National Institute of Fashion Technology in Raebareli. “I started participating in college fashion shows after I joined a fashion designing course. Everyone in my college started telling me that I should try my hands in modelling, and I did that. I started travelling to various places for shows. However, I wasn’t able to get a good platform,” she said.
“I used to follow this MTV modelling show, and honestly, I have tried twice in the past to get through the auditions, but I couldn’t. Last year was my third try, and when I got selected I couldn’t control my happiness,” she added.
Belonging to a small city, Rushali’s family wasn’t really please when she told them about her love for modeling. “I belong to a family, where we are not allowed to wear short dresses, forget bikini. I am the only girl from my entire family who is in the fashion industry. So, I told my mom about it, and they asked me if I am sure. I told them that if they don’t want me to make a career in modelling, I will quit it. But my brother has been really supportive and with his help, I was able to convince them. Now, my family is extremely proud of me,” expressed Rushali. She was a constant performer of the show, and a lot many people were vouching for her to win the show.
